A UNIQUE PIECE IN OAK AND GLASS

At Euroglas, we transform ideas into exclusive experiences. Discover Störtebeker’s “Cask No. 1” – the distillery’s first single malt drawn on casks. Matured for over 15 years in oak barrels and finished in an iconic growler bottle, which becomes a statement of glass and craftsmanship with its matt full-surface coating and glossy relief print.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE PROJECT

MATTE FULL SURFACE&shyCOATING

The iconic growler bottle has a completely matt finish, giving it an elegant, timeless look that emphasizes the personality of the whisky.

HAPTIC RELIEF PRINTING

A deep black 3D relief print creates glossy accents that stand out clearly from the matt background and create a fascinating interplay of light and texture.

LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION

Only 470 bottles were produced - each combining the highest quality finishing with artistic wooden packaging made from solid Bavarian wood, which was completed in 27 steps to create a unique masterpiece.

“Barrel No. 1” is not only a masterpiece of design, but also an award-winner:

In 2025, the project won the Red Dot Design Award and the German Packaging Award.

This result was made possible by the close collaboration between Störtebeker Brennerei, the design agency wertmarke hamburg GmbH and Holzmanufaktur Liebich GmbH (Thomas Dr. Koy) – an interplay of brand vision, creativity and craftsmanship at the highest level.

HISTORY WITH EUROGLASS

The collaboration with the Störtebeker distillery has resulted in a project that goes far beyond classic glass design. The iconic growler bottle was reinterpreted in close cooperation with the agency wertmarke hamburg GmbH and in combination with unusual wooden packaging from Holzmanufaktur Liebich. The result is a total work of art that uncompromisingly combines design, craftsmanship and technology – and thus impressively showcases the exclusivity of Störtebeker’s first barrel-aged product.

About STÖRTEBEKER

"Genuine Nordic whiskies have been produced in collaboration with Störtebeker Braumanufaktur since 2004 - brewed and matured on the Baltic coast," says master distiller Thomas Kliesow looking back. It therefore made sense to combine both strengths and expertise. Since January 2020, the traditional distillery in Alt Reddevitz has been operating under the name Störtebeker Brennerei. The climate of the Baltic Sea coast in particular shapes the taste of Störtebeker single malts. They are matured on the Mönchgut peninsula on the island of Rügen with its picturesque landscape of meadows, hills, bays and beaches. Thomas Kliesow has been working on the finish in selected wooden barrels since 2009. As a result, there are always limited editions with precisely these finishes - always with an individual signature and a dense aroma.
